As people live longer, the nature of Hospice Care is changing dramatically and we have to change and expand accordingly.
In particular, demand for hospice care in the home is escalating ? this year alone the number of patients receiving care at home has increased by 20 per cent and the hours of home respite we have delivered by 30 per cent.
It?s not just from cancer patients. Already 22 per cent of our patients have other conditions such as motor neurone disease, kidney failure, heart and lung conditions. Such conditions are not curable but are treatable. They are also longer-term, requiring care over many weeks, months and sometimes even years.
And such care is not just for the very elderly: many of our patients are in their 50s, 40s and 30s. More than 100 of them are children and young people.
9 out of 10 people know, have known or will know someone who has benefitted from https://florafox.com/ru/ulyanovsk-11. And, In the future, 1 in 3 of us may need this care for ourselves.
So we?ve launched our ?Means to an End? appeal: asking our community to help us raise an additional £1million over the next 12 months to help us expand our flower service.
